Price Increase

I am giving advance notice to all of my blog subscribers that my prices will be increasing on June 18 2012.  So this weekend is your last chance to order any work at my 2011 prices.  For example any painting currently selling for $400 will now be $600.  This will apply to work shown at Sladen's, Madrona Gallery, Xanadu Gallery, Poet's Cove,  and on my website.

Drifting

Anne insisted that I do another with the same technique I used for "Maiden Voyage".
So I did, and another one coming soon.  Destined for the Poet's Cove show.

Behind the Dentist's Office

This house is stucco like the last one I did on Cook.  So I textured it as well.
Dr. Bridge's office is in the front part of the house at the corner of Cook and May.

Stucco on Cook

You can't tell from the photo but
I used lots of texture on this one to simulate the stucco
and the bricks of the chimney.
Then I used an absorbent ground medium and
painted the blue like a watercolour, allowing
the paint to mix and flow at will.
This Old House says...."1935 British Arts & Crafts cottage;
prominent battered chimney with niche".

Front Gable on George

When I was photographing this house, the owner was sitting on the porch.
We got talking and she confided that she was going to be painting the house but couldn't decide what colour.  So I am looking forward to seeing what she decides to do with it.
I walked by the other day and the owner had painted the house a lovely periwinkle blue and was just trying to decide on a door colour.

Front Porch on Faithful

This huge old house on Faithful is one of my favourites.
I pass by when I walk to Mom and Dad's place.
It is one of the only houses of this size in the Cook St Village
area to remain as a single family home

The Beagle

The Beagle is the pub in Cook St Village.
Popular with the locals, particularly on hockey nights.
