Best Fisherman on the Pier

16x20.  I have moved to Bayfield, Ontario for the summer.  Quite a change from Pender Island.
This morning while walking on the pier, I saw this fisherman - he had  5 very large bass suspended in the water and caught another as I walked past.  I was half way home when I realized I had to paint him, so ran back and asked his permission for a photo.  He immediately started to haul his fish out of the water, but I told him that wouldn't be necessary.

hopefully renovate - not tear down this old house. At Madrona.

Rainbird Reflections

A new shop in Cook St Village that wisely sells rain gear in the winter
and beach wear in the summer.
Cook St is lined with enormous horse chestnut trees.  One of which is reflected in the window.

Big City Small Town

Victoria is a city with a small town feel.  How many cities do you know that still have the power and phone lines above ground?  It has very few high-rises.  In fact, one of the few is reflected in the window - the infamous and notorious View Towers.  This stretch of Fort st. houses the popular Blue Fox Cafe where there are line-ups every weekend , the Iyengar Yoga studio upstairs and Babak's Oriental Carpets.
