Daffodil House

I'm not sure of my architecture, but I believe this is Queen Anne style and it stands at the corner of Vancouver and Rockland.
UPDATE April 27....I found the house in the publication "This Old House, Vol 4" by the Victoria Heritage Foundation.  They devoted over a page to it, with pictures and a detailed history of its occupants.  As I suspected its architect was John Teague, the same man who designed the four remaining, similar houses on Vancouver St.  Here is a bit of what they say..."One of the most imposing versions of the Italianate townhouse in the city,...This house cost $6000 when built, making it one of the most lavish homes of the period."  Built 1875

Do Not Use Stairs

This is the first in a series I am doing on Cook St Village houses.  Some of which will be in Madrona Gallery in downtown Victoria for the summer show.  This little house is on Vancouver St and the stairs haven't been useable since we have been living in the neighbourhood.  Four years.  The yard is completely overgrown, but the Camellia is beautiful.  Built in 1924.

Studio OPEN

I am now officially open.   Including Easter weekend.  Every day 10 - 5.  Follow the signs from the Driftwood plaza and turn right before the winery.  Keep going past the private Lane sign.  The studio is well marked.   The weather is supposed to be sunny and warm this weekend.  Have a fun and happy Easter.

Perfect Conditions

This is my final product from the workshop on Feb. 20th.  (warm glaze)

Raven Kids

This is one from the summer that I finally finished.  We have ravens that nest on our property and when the young get to be teenagers, it is fun to watch them interact on the front lawn.  They are noisy,  smart and sociable.

Workshop Photos

For anyone looking for photos from the workshop, I created a separate page for them.  See the link "Workshops"  on the right.
